Meditation

Today's is a stressful life. Now why the word stressful? But before answering this question it is necessary to introspect our own self. Why have we become stressful? Who is responsible for this stress? What has caused us to become stressful in spite of robotic technologies being used in day-to-day life?

The answers to these questions not one but many. Type of work has changed, ambitious nature, deadlines, load of work - the list can grow. And after introspecting each answer, one can know that it’s not the end of the tunnel. Each answer is throwing up different reasons. And last but not the least who is responsible for all this, and a simple answer to all this is - I, me and myself. In this cutthroat competitive world all know where to begin, but how many of us know where to stop?

The ambition to achieve more and more, working hours knows no limits. Overtime is the order of the day. Why does one need to work overtime? Many complain of lack of time. In our daily life we use many time saving equipment. Then really how much time is saved by the so-called timesaving equipment?

'Vasudhiava Kutumbakam' is a common word today. It’s possible to travel physically from around the world in a matter of hours, possible to communicate. So 'possible' is the word to mark. Like Dr. Kiran Bedi says. Even poor kids aren't spared from this stress. They have their own problems.

Even their toys have changed from the traditional ones to hi-fi computer gaming. And all this is taking us nowhere, because it is all like a rocking chair, which gives you something to do but actually takes you nowhere. This stress, lack of time does nothing other than disturbing you and your natural mind and body structure.

All of us are proud to be Indians and the Indian culture. Sages and saints here have given us million-dollar 'theva'. Its up to us not only to preserve it but also to draw meaningful conclusions.

Meditation is one of it. It’s a great power to control your fickle mind. It relaxes you, calms you down - and calms you down mentally. Meditation is a force in itself. And it should be only exercised to be experienced. Practicing deep breathing during meditation helps. Deep breathing accompanied by His thoughts is like 'sone pe suhaga'. Because even if one is on a tender bed won't mean he is on the 7th heaven.

Rest of mind is the ultimate goal. Why does one want to earn more? Why does one want security? Why does one want good education? It’s for the peace of your mind. Do you give your piece of mind unto Him, if you want your peace of mind?

I need to write!

When I started contributing to writing sites, I understood that I need to write. Write daily and write correctly. Writing daily is a very important part of this business. Business, in the sense that, if you want to turn your knowledge and your passion for writing into some earning source. Simply writing won't help you. Then what? You need to have a passion for writing. Those who have it, need just to attend to it for, say, a couple of hours daily. But only that won't help. It should be uploaded to the relevant sites. When they get accepted, or get published only then do you set your ball rolling. Initially, you may find this rather tough - to cope with the schedule that you choose. But when you get used to it, then you will die to write. Words will follow you. You will be loaded with thoughts. And then you will get the joys of writing. And if coupled with some earnings - that's why you will write then.Write and earn will become the order of the day for you. Best luck and God bless!

Ask Him Your Wishes

We humans - off of us live in this materialistic world. And when you say 'materialism' what all you think of - wishes, and so sorrows, jealousy, sex, anger, attachment, the pains all that. Any human in any birth in this world always wishes. As a mind is never empty, so is he never wishless. His wishes are constantly on his mind and they are innumerable.If, for example, someone's kid is away for school and suddenly a heavy downpour begins, his mother or his father will wish for his safe and early arrival. And when they see him with their own eyes only do they feel relived. Such wishes of a man always keep cropping up. They are as unending as eternity.Such wishes drag as away from Him. We cannot keep our cool and serve Him. Because there are a thousand thoughts in the mind and each thought is powerful enough to take us away from Him. So just imagine how far we are from the Almighty.But desires will keep coming on the surface of our minds, because this is a material world. Even Gods have had desires. But comparing their desires with our's will be fulishness. And any unfulfiled one makes us uneasy. And an upset mind cannot be set on Him.But on the other hand, because mind is not empty along with the other good and bad thoughts, even a small desire does peep up. And is big enough to give a lot of trouble. And eventually, the man ends up being unhappy and feeling sorry only for himself for his hopeless and pitiable trials to achieve his goals.That said wishes are necessary. They keep us going. They make us believe in Him. And those who believe in Him refrain from wrong-doing. Because they fear Him and have faith that as He gives good fruits of good deeds, so we can get punished for wrong-doings.As far as living in this materialistic world is concerned, everyone is under the influence of a 'wish', the materialistic desires. Having certain desires is not all wrong. Otherwise all of us would be called saints and holy souls. But having a certain desire fulfiled makes your belief in Him stronger. Mostly everyone under the sky prays Him with certain wish in his mind. Serving Him with a nil desire is nearly an impossible thing for a common man with limited penances. A man in this world is always surronded by innumerable problems and those who believe in Him, pray Him with a certain objective set in his mind. If any non-believer loses any hopes even after untiring efforts, has at last no other option but to surrender unto Him. And when one surrenders to Hi, there is always an expectation.And there's absolutely nothing wrong in expecting something in return by serving Him. It's only He to whom we can ask for. Because not every need can be fulfiled by our parents, or friends or our wife or kids. One seeks favours in return from Him when his manly efforts seem fruitless. And the helpless human then seeks divine intervention. When man cannot help man, he cries foul. But there's no question of crying foul when you are seving Him for your humanly benefits.To be able to chant His name without a desire, one needs to be like Saint Tukaram, Saint Dnyaneshwar or Mother Teresa. And all aren't saints. So unwishful service is out of question. Its actually the beginning of any man's spiritual life. But having faith in Him, and years of painance can lead you to a wishless service.

Irrational Numbers

1, 2, 3, 4, ... are natural numbers. But 1, 4, 9, 16, ... are perfect squares to boot. Because all have square-root viz 1, 2, 3, 4, .... But there are some numbers which act nasty. For example 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, etc. Whose square roots can't be found exactly. Remember 'exactly'. In other words these number are known as irrational numbers.If you take 10 for example's sake, it comes after 9 and before 16. Which means its square root is greater than 3 and smaller than 4.
Now if we go into more details, we can know that it square root up to 2 digits is 3.16. Up to 3 digits 3.162 and up to 4 digits 3.1622. And the sequence of a never ending calculation starts. But the value 3.1622 is a nearer value than 3.162. And 3.162 is more accurate than only 3.16. But it is also worth noticing than, no value of any of the above is exact.
As you keep increasing the decimal places, you will reach a more accurate and nearer value. In that ascending order the square root of 10 will be 3.1, 3.16, 3.162, 3.1622, 3.16227, 3.162277, 3.1622776, 3.16227766, .... And the process never ends. Manually it make bulk of time to calculate the values of such irrational numbers. But now a days, with the help of computers values in the region and probably above 5 lac decimal places can be found within a matter of fraction of a second.
But again one thing needs to be clarified that even 5 lac decimal places' value found with the help of computers doesn't mean exact values. They still are irrational numbers and so 5 lac decimal places' value still is an approximate one and not perfect. Only the plus point is that, it is far more nearer to the unknown value.

Indian Series Win

Some past months have been good for Indian Cricket. From doing an excellent work in South Africa in inagural version of the T20 to winning the ODI and the Test series against the arch rivals - Pakistan. The beginning of the Test series too was what any Indian fan would have wanted. A winning beginning done in any form of cricket surely gets the confidence of the team sky high. No other man than Kumble would have wanted this. Appointed for the first time as the full time Test captain, Kumble got to work. Playing and experimenting with his bowlers, he did what he had to.There was a big onus on Kumble, firstly because he has been appointed as a full time Test captain, and secondly the ODI captain had just done India proud. But Kumble a seasoned campaigner was right upto his job. Leading from the front he led India to victory; not only in the series, but his magical spell also threatned to snach victory on the last day of the last Test. It was a much needed victory for the Indians as they are soon going Down Under for a tough series. And as usual, his Australian counterpart has begun with his mind games. Trying to discourage Kumble - a new leader - and all know how Australians are invincible. So this is how Australians begin their tour weeks and months before actually even a bowl is bowled.
